Support for the Philippine Creative Industry!
Filipino artists are full of incredible talent, but many struggle because they lack the right support and opportunities to shine on the world stage. To support the change on this, a strong partnership has been formed between 1Z Entertainment, SB19, and the Office of Senator Bam Aquino to champion the PACE Act (Philippine Agency for the Creative Economy Act).
Let's turn real-life struggles into actionable solutions
For SB19 members, this advocacy comes straight from the heart. Ever since they started managing their own group under 1Z Entertainment, they became very hands-on with everything from writing music and creating music videos to producing their own concerts.
Because they did everything themselves, they faced many challenges when trying to bring their music and shows to other countries. They experienced firsthand how difficult visa processing and travel papers can be, along with a lack of structured support for international performances.
Instead of keeping these hard lessons to themselves, they wanted to use their experience to help others. With the help of Senator Bam Aquino, Pablo and Josh met with the senator's office and presented real data showing why Filipino artists desperately need this kind of help.
What is the PACE Act?
Under Senate Bill No. 2517, the PACE Act aims to set up a dedicated government agency that will support Filipino creatives so they can successfully join international opportunities and proudly share Filipino culture with the world.
The bill focuses on several key goals:
Help with Travel and Visas: It aims to help Filipino creatives join international events by giving support with visa requirements, travel expenses, and other important needs.
Creating Jobs and Growth: It works to open up more jobs and business opportunities within the creative industry, which will help grow the country's economy.
Supporting All Creatives: It is not just for musicians and performers. It supports everyone in the creative sector, including filmmakers, fashion designers, dancers, producers, writers, weavers, animators, and game developers.
A Long Journey Ahead
This proposed law still has a long way to go before it officially becomes enacted, but this partnership is a wonderful and historic starting point. You can read the full details of the bill here.
Let us all show our support for this bill throughout the entire legislative process so our local artists can get the backing they truly deserve. Support the Philippine creative industry and pass the PACE Act.
